COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A Columbus police officer is in stable condition after being shot at an apartment complex on the city's west side.
Police say the officer made a call from Ashton Pine Apartments late Friday night saying he was in trouble. Backup units responded and found the wounded officer.
Police told The Associated Press early Saturday that he was hospitalized in stable condition.
The name of the officer and details surrounding the shooting were not immediately being released.
Officers chased a man who they believe was involved in the shooting but he was not immediately apprehended.
