Officer dies after Ohio foot chase

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) -- A police officer in the Cleveland area has died after collapsing during a foot chase.
Thirty-year-old Thomas Patton II had been on the Cleveland Heights force for seven years. He was the son of state Sen. Thomas Patton.
Police Chief Martin Lentz says several officers were chasing someone near a Marc's discount store at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday when Patton stopped suddenly and doubled over then began running again before collapsing.
Lentz says Patton died at a local hospital.
