Boyfriend of Slain Pregnant Teacher Commits Suicide
RICHMOND -- A family member found the body of the slain pregnant teacher, Tonawanda Thompson's boyfriend, Tuesday afternoon in his home on Chester Boulevard.
"I couldn't believe it," said Tommy Tout, friend of suicide victim, "You know."
Police say Bill Nakis shot himself in the head.
He's the father of Thompson's unborn baby. They were murdered last week.
"He
was not what we would describe as a person of interest," said Officer Ron Pennington, Richmond Police Department, "He was not a
suspect; however he was not ruled out as a potential suspect."
Police combed through his home and car, trying to find any clues as to why he took his life.
They say the gun Nakis used is not the same weapon that killed Thompson and her unborn baby.
A note found at the scene had two words on it, "I'm sorry."
"In light of today's incident, that's does not bring closure the investigation to Ms. Thompson's death so it will remain an active investigation," said Pennington.
"From what I see when we'd eat there he was a good guy," said Tout.
He says he hates to see the recent violence in the community.
"Its getting pretty bad so people are watching their backs, locking their doors," said Tout.

DOVER, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities have reopened a stretch of Interstate 77 in northeast Ohio after a vapor release at a chemical company forced its closure.
Firefighters were called Monday morning to Dover Chemical Corp. in Dover, about 45 miles south of Akron.
Dover Fire Chief Russell Volkert said an overheated chemical reactor produced a haze that officials had worried could lead to a fire.
No injuries were reported. Volkert said he had heard that two people sought medical treatment on their own. He had no further details.
Nearby residents were told to stay inside and keep their windows shut. At least one school had sent its elementary students to another school as a precaution.
Company president Dwain Colvin told The (Dover-New Philadelphia) Times-Reporter that he will be doing an investigation of the incident.
